Join us for SCIENCE DAYS in the Santa Monica Mountains! Hear from National Park Service scientists and their collaborators about the incredible scientific and conservation work that is being conducted in the Mountains. You’ll hear about our dynamic wildlife, our unique cultural resources and the recovery efforts following the Woolsey Fire.
On February 12th, we’ll have a great series of talks in the morning (8:30am – 12:00pm) followed by a field trip (1:00pm to 5:00pm) to Solstice Canyon led by National Park Service biologists and rangers. Coffee and bagels will be available during the morning session.
On the evening of the 12th, join us for a fun evening of science and socializing from 5:30pm to 8:00pm! Enjoy light appetizers and beverages while mixing with park scientists and rangers. That evening will feature an opening talk with Rick Halsey of the California Chaparral Institute followed by a keynote presentation from Dr. Seth Riley of the National Park Service.
The event will wrap up on February 13th with another round of talks (8:30am – 12:00pm) from National Park Service staff and our collaborators. Coffee and bagels will again be available during the morning session.
This entire event is open to the public at no cost; however please be sure to RSVP! We have limited spaces available for the Field Trip and Keynote Event.
